Description: The NSW Office of Environment and Heritage (OEH) has compiled a ‘best available’ spatial dataset containing information on the conservation value of Travelling Stock Reserves (TSRs). Conservation value was initially described as one of four classes, being High, Medium, Low or Unassessed. The final field for use when displaying the data is ‘BIOCVFINAL’.A review was then completed, with all TSRs assigned a conservation value of High, Medium or Low . The final field for use when displaying the data is ‘BIOCVREV’The project was a partnership between Local Land Services (LLS) and OEH to collate and prepare a spatial layer of existing TSR conservation value information for NSW. This project aimed to: (1) collate (into an accessible spatial format) all currently held data by OEH, the former RLPB’s and research institutions on the conservation values on TSRs in NSW, particularly those managed by the LLS(2) identify data gaps for TSRs that have not had their conservation values assessed, or the information collected needs updating. The conservation value layer prepared as part of this project has been based on a range of existing data sets, including pre-existing spatial information, spreadsheets, databases and reports. The review of existing data included both digital and hard copy information, with specialist reviews of some TSRs completed by field ecologists with an intimate knowledge of TSRs in a region. The main aim of the dataset was to identify conservation value on TSRs managed by the LLS. To display only TSRs managed by the LLS display only polygons where Class = 10 and Management type = Rural Lands Protection Board.More information on the project is available through the report 'Compiling conservation value data for Travelling Stock Reserves - Report for the Linear Reserves - Managing travelling stock reserves for sustainable conservation outcomes project.'
